A two-vehicle wreck on Ga. 20 in front of the old Krannert Elementary School on Friday, Aug. 10, sent the drivers of both a truck and a car to the hospital.

According to Floyd County officer Tim Bridges:

The afternoon wreck was the result of failed brakes on a late model Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by William Dique, after it slid out into traffic at a stop sign.

Wanda Roe, driving a late model Cadillac STS, was traveling down Ga. 20 when the truck came out into traffic and, unable to stop in time, struck the front of the pickup truck.

Bridges said both Roe and Dique complained of minor injuries and were taken to Floyd Medical Center. The inside lanes on both sides of Ga. 20 were shut down while officials cleared the wreck.

Either way, it's failing to stop. I hope they don't waste their time testing the brakes, just so they can charge him with the exact same thing. Attorney: Do you have any way of knowing whether the brakes were working at the exact time of the accident? A: No. Attorney: Thank you for wasting your time proving the brakes did/didn't work hours after the accident occurred.

Failed Brakes?????

Better check those again given the number of vehicles I've had close call with running that stop sign at Martin RD and HWY 20
