Darlington School will host “Ride the Wave ... Catch the Tiger Spirit,” a raffle and dinner, on Saturday, at 6:30 p.m. in the Huffman Athletic Center’s Johnson Field House. Proceeds will benefit all of Darlington’s parent organizations, including Lower, Middle and Upper School TIGER PRIDE; the Athletic Booster Club; and the Fine Arts Booster Club.

“We are so excited to have one event that will bring the entire community together,” said Susi Manning, chairwoman of the Dinner Committee. “It is going to be a fun-filled evening starting with Applebee’s serving an incredible Hawaiian-themed dinner complete with steak, shrimp and chicken, and dessert provided by Honeymoon Bakery. The evening will include a raffle, as well as a big silent and live auction with great items including vacations, gifts and tickets to sporting events. The evening will be topped off with entertainment and dancing to the sounds of Broad and Third.”

There are three pricing options for tickets. For $150, you can get dinner for two and four drink tickets as well as a chance to win $10,000 in the raffle (or tuition credit for your oldest child of as much as $15,000). The second prize is $2,000. If you would like to attend without entering the raffle, $75 will get you two dinner tickets and $40 will get you one dinner ticket. Tickets are available in the office at each division or by calling 706-236-0472.

“With one child in college, one child just having graduated and one entering the Upper School, I appreciate more and more the foundation that my children received at each division,” said Philline Lawrence, chairperson of the Raffle Committee. “Those of us working with the Athletic and Fine Arts Booster Clubs aren’t here to build a program for our children, we are trying to build one for the next generation in an effort to give something back to the school. That is really what this one-school event is about — building a stronger foundation, working together for a common goal pre-K-12. I didn’t send my kids here to attend one division; I sent them here for the entire experience, to be part of a community. This event is about bringing us all together to have fun, to get to know each other better and to raise money for Tiger PRIDE, Fine Arts and Athletics all in one evening.”

If you are interested in volunteering at the event, please contact Anne Paige Wilson at 706-236-0472 or apwilson@darlingtonschool.org. The Auction Committee is also looking for items and services to be donated to the auction. If you would like to donate an item, please contact Rozanne Collins at 770-773-0527 or collins4665@att.net.
