WALESKA — With classes beginning Monday, Reinhardt University students and faculty will see more growth on campus with new buildings and a lot more students to start the new school year.

The university’s current enrollment stands at 1,232 students, an increase from last year’s 1,080 students at the same time. President Dr. J. Thomas Isherwood said he anticipates 1,300 students to be enrolled following the drop-add period.

I am guessing Reinhardt can thank Shorter for some of this growth. I am aware of several students tha transferred to Reinhardt from Shorter because of Shorters new policies.

Much of Shorter's fine arts department left for Reinhardt. Many of their students then followed.

Here's a little more from the rest of the article:

"Isherwood said meeting the 11 percent growth in student enrollment is important to the university and the school will be doing so with the addition of a new residence hall, athletic fieldhouse and the Ken White Music Center."

"'This year, we’ll be the largest music program at any private institution in the state of Georgia,' Isherwood said. 'That’s going to be a new challenge and a sense of excitement for us.'"

Reinhardt also has a Statement of Faith:

Reinhardt developed their Statement of Faith using a different process than Shorter:

"Reinhardt's Statement of Faith resulted from a year-long study of faith and what it means at Reinhardt. During the year, several lectures addressed faith on our campus, and an extensive written survey of faculty and staff views toward faith and the role it plays at Reinhardt was conducted. A series of small focus groups were conducted by Reinhardt President Dr. J. Thomas Isherwood and College Chaplain the Rev. Leigh S. Martin. Isherwood and Martin distilled what they had heard into a written document, and faculty and staff feedback to the statement was considered. The resulting statement above was approved by Reinhardt's Board of Trustees on Sept. 18, 2007."

"President Isherwood believes the statement helps to explain the institution's faith atmosphere. 'It is not a litmus test or belief statement that our employees must sign. Instead, it strives to summarize how this institution addresses faith. I hope it will help prospective students, faculty and staff have a better idea of what to expect.'"

It was a much simpler process at Shorter. God told Dowless, Dowless told Shorter, all the sinners left and all those without sin stayed (all those without the Dowless' chosen sins such as drinking in public and turning water into wine).
