Mary Ann McDaniels, president of the Georgia Retired Educators Association, was in Rome recently to speak to the local retired educators.

“We know that we have a wonderful retirement with the benefits we receive but we do not equate our retirement with the ‘rocking chair’ mentality,” McDaniels told the group. “None of you are rocking unless it is to the beat of ‘Elvira!’ We want to continue to be a part of our communities and state. I know of no other group like educators who have always given so much help to others.”

Anyone who wants to join the local retired educators should call Edward Waters at 706-234-5104.
