LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville running back Senorise Perry will miss the remainder of the season with a torn right anterior cruciate ligament.

The No. 20 Cardinals’ top rusher and Big East Conference touchdowns leader sustained the injury during Saturday’s 45-26 loss at Syracuse, Louisville’s first this season.

The junior from Summerville, Ga., rushed for 705 yards and 11 touchdowns as part of Louisville’s two-pronged running attack. Junior Jeremy Wright is second on the team with 680 yards and coach Charlie Strong said Monday he will now get additional carries.

Freshman Corvin Lamb, who caught a 53-yard touchdown pass against Syracuse but has rushed just twice for minus-1 yard this season, will back up Wright.

The Cardinals have a bye this week and host Connecticut on Nov 24.
