A Rome woman remained in the Floyd County Jail on Saturday night after she allegedly fired a pistol while driving after having consumed alcohol, according to a Floyd County Jail report.

According to the report:

Police arrested Mayra Ninette Gonzalez, 38, of 9 Wentworth Place, after she drank several beers and drove down Smith Road as she fired off a round from a pistol late Friday night.

Officers charged Gonzalez at Burnett Ferry Road near the Fellowship Church parking lot with misdemeanors discharge of firearm near a highway, discharge of firearm while under the influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, DUI, driving without a license, driving without insurance and having expired registration.
