A man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly sold a car to a towing company under false pretenses, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Danny Turner Dewayne Kelley, 26, of 541 Pleasant Valley Road, Silver Creek, was charged with felony counts of first-degree forgery and theft by taking.

Kelley is accused of signing a false bill of sale using a different name and then selling a 1995 Ford Crown Victoria that did not belong to him for scrap to Dempsey Towing last month for $300.

The victim stated that the vehicle was valued at approximately $600.
