A Rome man was charged late Monday night after he allegedly was in possession of marijuana and a pistol, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Devon Tremayne Carter, 23, of 418 Wilson Ave., was charged after police found him at the intersection of Elliott Drive and Garden Lakes Boulevard with a marijuana cigarette and a pistol of which he had altered the identification number.

He was charged with felony counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark and misdemeanor possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
