Dr. Barbara Finn has been named dean of Shorter College’s School of Business Management, part of the Professional Studies Program for working adults.

Finn, a resident of Atlanta and former business executive, has been a full-time member of Shorter’s Professional Studies faculty since 2002. Prior to her appointment as dean, she served as associate professor of management and was chair of undergraduate business programs in the School of Business Management. She also chaired the college-wide Curriculum Revision Task Force.

"She has a great depth of experience in business, a motivating personality and a desire to create a high quality Professional Studies curriculum," said Carl W. Ericsson, associate provost of Shorter’s School of Professional Studies. "She believes in the Shorter College adult students and supports their efforts to improve their lives by coming back to school."

Finn earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Georgia, a Master of Business Administration in marketing from Valdosta State University and a doctorate in business from Capella University. She also completed Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
