Monday update: Rain showers with a high near 63, low around 34 - nearly three-quarters of an inch of rain so far today

When it rains it pours and that's what Floyd County is seeing today, according to the National Weather Service.

As of 12:53 p.m. Floyd County has gotten .70 inches of rain according to the rain gauge at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.

More rain showers are likely and possibly a thunderstorm before noon then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between noon and 4 p.m., then a chance of showers after 4 p.m. Today's high will be near 63 with new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight there is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8 p.m. and a low around 34.
