Bypass work on Highway 20 West set to halt traffic

Drivers heading out toward Alabama on Highway 20 West should be advised to expect to stop for construction as work on the Rome bypass continues today.

Currently workers are installing the concrete beams over Highway 20. Floyd County Police officers on the scene report that each beam should only take 15 to 20 minutes to install.

Traffic will only be stopped temporarily for the concrete braces to be lifted into place.
