DUNWOODY, Ga. (AP) — A judge has ordered a temporary halt to construction of a trail just days before a suburban Atlanta city and its contractors were scheduled to begin clearing about 330 trees from a forest.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the planned multi-use trail in Dunwoody's Brook Run Park has become a flash point of controversy for several residents and groups in Dunwoody. Several homeowners in the area have voiced concern about potential water run-off from the project.

A DeKalb County Superior Court granted a temporary restraining order Thursday to consider legal arguments for and against the project.

Dunwoody is about 14 miles north of downtown Atlanta.
