Bait shop owner dies near business on Cedartown Highway

A bait shop owner died of natural causes this morning near his business at 2354 Cedartown Highway, Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said.

James Thompson, 76, of 103 N. Blanche Ave., was discovered in the parking lot of the store at 8:30 a.m. by a Polk County deputy who was passing by, Proctor said.

Proctor said Thompson died of natural causes and was pronounced dead at the scene.
