An inmate in the Floyd County Jail was charged with felony counts of interfering with government property and unlawful possession of a weapon by an inmate, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

Terry Lynn Allen, 44, broke off a piece of a dust mop belonging to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and turned it into a stabbing weapon, endangering other inmates and Floyd County Jail staff.

The report did not state whether Allen had tried to use the object before it was discovered.
