A Rome man had to be extracted through the front windshield of his Nissan Versa after it flipped onto its side near 2345 Burnett Ferry Road at approximately 3 p.m. in a one-vehicle wreck on Wednesday.

The driver of the vehicle, David Lamar Bryan, 61, was taken to Floyd Medical Center with minor injuries, according to Sgt. Shawn Prather of the Georgia State Patrol.

Bryan reportedly was seen traveling northbound and swerving across the roadway by witnesses. The vehicle struck a mailbox and hit a ditch next to a driveway, which caused it to flip. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Citations were pending and were not available as of press time.
