A Silver Creek man was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after the small pick-up truck he was driving turned on its side on Old Rockmart Road, according to Floyd County police.

According to officer Jeramy Penny:

Brent Owens Forsyth, 39, was driving a 1986 gray Chevy S-10 south on Old Rockmart Road west of Lindale at about 3:30 p.m. when it crossed into the opposite lane and ran into the east shoulder.

The truck was tipped onto its passenger side and struck a large rock that was exposed across the street from 174 Old Rockmart Road.

Forsyth, who was taken to Floyd Medical Center, had visible injuries but was standing up inside the cab of the truck when first responders arrived. He crawled out on his own after the windshield was removed.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck and traffic was affected for a short period of time as paramedics treated the driver and the truck was removed from the scene.
