A Rome man is recovering from serous injuries after he was hit by a car at the intersection of East 19th Street and Clifford Street on Monday night, according to Rome police re-ports.

According to the reports:

Anthony Gaines Miller, 52, of 2513 Callier Springs Road, was struck by a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix driving by an elderly woman.

When police found him, a large amount of blood was coming from his face.

Miller was taken by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center. The doctor told police that Miller has serious facial injuries that would require major surgeries to repair.

The woman told police she was taking three medications — clondine, hydrocodone and lisinopil. A blood test was taken to determine if the woman had anything in her system that would impair her driving ability.
