UPDATE: Giovanni Cruze Hernandez, of Rome, was charged with following too closely after he caused a five-car wreck on Alabama Highway on Tuesday.

Five people suffered minor injuries in the incident and some were taken to the hospital for treatment.

According to Trooper First Class Jamie Mitchell of the Georgia State Patrol:

Four vehicles were stopped for a school bus near Avery Road Tuesday afternoon when a pick-up truck driven by Hernandez collided with the line of cars causing a chain reaction.

Five vehicles were involved in a wreck near the intersection of Alabama Highway and Avery Road. According to the Georgia State Patrol there were only minor injuries at the wreck. It appears several vehicles were stopped for a school bus and a fifth car did not stop and caused the wreck.

The names of people involved in the wreck are not available at this time.
