A fire did minor damage to a residence on Woodland Street off Callier Springs Road on Thursday morning and displaced a family because firefighters had to turn off the power to the residence.

Battalion Chief Milton Wilson of the Rome-Floyd Fire Department said the fire at 66 Woodland St. was caused by an electrical problem.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family of two adults and one child because they had nowhere to go after the power was turned off to the residence.
