Report: Woman gave false name to police

A woman originally arrested for felony shoplifting Wednesday was found to have lied to officers, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the report:

Veronica Lynn Pickard, 42, of 266 Harrell St., Trion, had given a false name and a false date of birth when taken into custody.

She also signed a personal property form under a false name when she was booked into Floyd County Jail.

Pickard was charged with felony false statements and writings and misdemeanor giving false name and information to a law enforcement officer.

She remained in jail Thursday night without bond.
