Despite having three players in double figures, Berry's men's basketball team dropped a Southern Athletic Association matchup with Birmingham-Southern, 88-62, on Friday evening.

The loss pushed Berry's overall record to 4-13 and 1-6 in SAA competition. Birmingham-Southern improved to 13-4 and 6-1.

Berry's Mac Whalen paced the team with 13 points while Lake Graham and Jonathan Abrams had 11 and 10 respectively.

"We competed well against a very good team," said Berry Head Coach Jeff Haarlow. "But turnovers killed us. You just can't win on the road when you make that many errors."

BSC forced a season-high 32 Viking miscues.

After briefly holding a two-point lead, Berry found itself down by 10 points with 8:08 remaining in the first half. The team would go to the locker room down by 13 points at halftime.

The Vikes made 55-percent of its shots in the second half. Berry allowed Birmingham-Southern to convert 51.4 percent of its field goals in that period

Birmingham-Southern's Larry Thomas had 14 points and was joined in double figures by Ross Welch (13 points), Kevin Kegarise (12 points) and Zac Richards (12 points).
