Georgia Northwestern Technical College's GOAL winner announced at luncheon

During a luncheon hosted by the Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce and Seven Hills Rotary Club of Rome, Daniel Groce a business management instructor at the Whitfield-Murray Campus was chosen as the GOAL Award.

The other semi-finalists for the GOAL award were:

Jeffery Hughes – Networking Specialist – Walker County Campus

Nathan Kaiser – Automotive Technologies – Walker County Campus

Oscar Reyes – Business Management – Whitfield Murray Campus

The GOAL program was started in 1971 to highlight technical education and recognize students for both their academic and personal accomplishments.

Troy Peco of the Walker campus was the Rick Perkins award winner.

The Perkins award was initiated in 1991 to honor outstanding instructors who have excelled through innovation and leadership in the technical education classroom.

The Rick Perkins nominees for 2013 included:

Ronda Cox, General Education, Walker campus

Anthony Gallman, Cosmetology, Gordon campus

Bobby Lewis, Neuromuscular Therapy, Floyd campus

Ose Martinez, Associate Degree Nursing, Walker campus Greg Paulson, Culinary Arts, Floyd campus

Gina Stephens, Business Technologies, Floyd campus

Jackie Jenkins was awarded with the EAGLE award. EAGLE is an award given to an Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education.
