ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a Georgia man illegally transported dozens of firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition to western New York.

Federal prosecutors tell the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester that 31-year-old Liddon Young of Atlanta was arrested last Friday in the town of Greece, a Rochester suburb.

Officials say a police search of one Rochester-area house connected with the investigation yielded 10 handguns and nearly 300 bullets. The newspaper reports that federal agents say Young had been to Rochester four times between October and February and sold up to 12 guns to an informant during each trip.

Young, a former Rochester resident, appeared in federal court Wednesday on multiple firearms-related charges. It couldn't immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.
