A grandmother was arrested on felony shoplifting charges after she let her 10-year-old granddaughter pick out outfits that she later shoplifted from a Broad Street store, according to Floyd County Jail reports.

According to the reports:

Linda Sue Rodgers, 56, of 1258 Macedonia-Taylorsville Road, Taylorsville, was released from jail Tuesday morning on a $4,800 bond.

Police said Rodgers went into Paula’s Boutique on Broad Street around 2:15 p.m. on Monday with her granddaughter, who picked out ten outfits.

After the outfits were chosen, Rodgers stole the clothing along with a diaper bag.

The outfits were valued at $78 each, and the bag was valued at $28.

Rodgers was arrested at her home Monday evening.

She also is charged with misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor for committing the crimes while she was with her granddaughter.

The report did not indicate what happened to the child, and the reporting officer could not be reached Tuesday.
