Cycle Therapy will consolidate its Cartersville store and its current Rome location at 296 West Third St. and expand into 608 Broad St., the former home of Purple Mountain Natural Foods, which moved to 504 E. First Ave., behind Central Plaza.

The new store, located next to Great Harvest Bread Co., will better showcase the large inventory of Giant, Cannondale, Kuota, Scott and Felt bicycles that has made Cycle Therapy the largest and most complete bicycle shop in Northwest Georgia, according to owner Trey Smith.

“Exciting lines of apparel, accessories and bikes designed for beginners, advanced, children, comfort and trails are all part of the experience at the Cycle Therapy,” Smith said. “An expanded service area and fitting studio will occupy a large portion of the store and be staffed by experienced mechanics and riders – Scott Robbins (a/k/a "Nato," formerly of R.E.I.) and Ben Horst (formerly of J&B Distributors-New Mexico).

"Cycle Therapy has capitalized on delivering expert service and timely turnaround with its well-trained, knowledgeable staff,” Smith said. “Our customers are exited about the move and we are looking forward to advancing the activity of cycling in our new location."

Smith, an ex-professional rider, said the mission of Cycle Therapy is to inspire Northwest Georgians to lead healthy lives through cycling and to provide knowledgeable and professional service to customers.

The newly renovated shop will be Rome's largest retail and information center for cyclists in Northwest Georgia, Smith said.

A grand opening is planned for April 13. Cycle Therapy hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
