Rome Braves shut down in series opener

The Rome Braves suffered their third straight loss Tuesday night, falling to the Lexington Legends, 4-2, in the opener of a four-game series.

The Braves scored their only runs of the night on LV Ware’s two-run homer in the eighth inning, his first of the season.

Rome starter Randall Delgado was charged with three runs in four innings and took the loss.

Ware and Luis Sumoza finished with two hits each for the Braves, who fell to 8-9 on the year.

Rome’s three-game losing streak matches its longest of the season.

The Braves and Legends play the second game of the series today at 10 a.m.

Lee promoted; Fuller activated

Rome outfielder CJ Lee was sent to the high-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans on Tuesday morning. Lee, a second-year Rome player, was batting .239 with five RBIs for the Braves.

He was replaced on the roster by infielder Chais Fuller, who was activated from the disabled list. He had been sidelined with a strained leg muscle.
