John Joseph Desmond IV, M.D., is a board-certified family medicine physician.
In this role, Dr. Desmond will see patients at Floyd Medical Center and the Floyd Family Medicine Residency Clinic, 304 Shorter Ave., Suite 201. He will also teach residents and medical students there.
Desmond comes to FMC from Affinity Health Group LLC in Tifton. He earned his medical doctorate from the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta. In addition, he completed his residency at Halifax Health Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Fla.
A board-certified family medicine physician, Desmond is a member of the American Medical Association, Medical Association of Georgia and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
He and his wife, Penny Desmond, reside in Rome with children, Quinn and Sam. They attend St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
