Wallet, cellphone taken in robbery of South Rome man

Rome police are looking for two suspects who took a wallet and cell phone from a man outside his house Friday night, reports stated.

According to Rome police reports:

Police arrived on at a McGhee Street residence Friday around 10:30 p.m. to find a man had been robbed while outside his home.

The man told police he was outside his house talking on the phone when two men approached him quickly, pushed him down and took his wallet and cell phone.

The man also told police the two suspects ran off to a vehicle on Butler Street where they drove off in the direction of South Rome.

Police reported the man received scratches and bruises in the robbery, but was otherwise unharmed. The suspects were reported to have escaped with $270 in cash, a $20 wallet and a $300 cellphone.

There were no suspects in custody at the time of the report.
