Both Berry College and Shorter College will hold their fall graduation exercises Saturday.

Kathy Brittain McKee, associate provost and dean of academic services at Berry College, will be the featured speaker at Berry’s ceremony, the first graduation ceremony to take place in the Steven J. Cage Athletic and Recreation Center.

The ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will be streamed live via the Internet at www.berry.edu/webcast.

McKee has been serving as associate provost and dean of academic services at Berry since 1999, having joined the Berry faculty in 1986. McKee served as interim provost in 2007-08 and will be returning to the classroom full time in fall 2009.

“I am honored to have been asked to speak at the ceremony. It is a wonderful way to conclude my service as associate provost,” McKee said.

Stephanie D. Wilson, an astronaut with NASA, has been chosen as the keynote speaker for Shorter College’s ceremonies, scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Winthrop-King Centre.

In 2006, she was part of a return-to-flight test mission and assembly flight to the International Space Station. Then, in 2007, she was part of a crew rotation flight, delivering an Expedition 16 crew member and returning with an Expedition-15 crew member.

Wilson is the cousin of Shorter graduate Sandra Terry, who serves as assistant vice president for the college’s Professional Studies program.
