Mr. and Mrs. James Max Chambers of Centre, Ala., announce the engagement of their daughter Julie Lynn Chambers of Centre to Steven Richard Early of Rome, son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Early of Cedar Bluff, Ala.

Miss Chambers is a 1993 graduate of Cherokee County High School. She graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1998 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed at Redmond Regional Hospital.

The bride-elect is the sister of Blake Chambers of Centre. She is the granddaughter of Grace Chambers of Centre, the late J.W. Chambers and the late Mr. and Mrs. H.E. Hopper.

Early is a 1990 graduate of Coosa High School. He is employed at Boilermakers Local 454 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The groom-elect is the brother of Jody Early of Cedar Bluff. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Early and the late Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Hall.

A private wedding is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2002, at Claremont House. Invitations will be sent
