State prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Donnie Allen "D.J." Hulett Jr., who's accused or murdering two Whitfield County brothers outside the Mountain Top Boys Home in Villanow.

Prosecutors announced their intention during Hulett's first appearance hearing today on charges of killing Arvine and Larry Phelps last summer.

A Walker grand jury in November indicted Hulett on two counts of malice murder, six counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, four counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, two counts of armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

Hulett's arraignment date has not been announced, but presiding Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge Jon "Bo" Wood said today he hopes to hold the arraignment hearing in the first two weeks of December.

After the murders, Hulett escaped in Larry Phelps' truck, authorities allege. The ensuing manhunt led investigators to south Georgia and finally to Hulett's capture in Casa Grande, Ariz.

Police arrested Hulett at a convenience store where he planned to receive money at a Western Union branch
