J. Scott Callan, the former judge accused of sexual and simple battery, turned himself in Friday after five more warrants were issued for his arrest, one alleging that he committed sexual battery against a minor.

Four warrants for simple battery and one for sexual battery were issued for Callan’s arrest Thursday. The former Rome Municipal Court judge was released Friday from the Floyd County Jail on $3,000 bond.

The sexual battery charge alleges that Callan, 56, grabbed a 16-year-old girl’s buttocks as she left the Rome-Floyd County Library on March 10, according to the warrant.

The girl reported the alleged battery to the Rome Police Department and picked Callan’s picture out of a line-up, the warrant said.

The simple battery warrants allege that Callan kissed four different women against their will at his law office at 107 E. Fifth Ave.

The incidents allegedly occurred Feb. 10, 2003, Jan. 11, 2003, in October 2002 and in September 2001.

Callan was originally charged with sexual and simple battery on Feb. 23 for incidents that allegedly occurred on Feb. 14 and Jan. 14.

Callan’s resignation from his judgeship was accepted by the City Commission at its meeting on March 3
