CHARLESTON, S.C. - Having given up 40 hits in the first two games of the series, the Charleston RiverDogs were looking for someone to close the door on the Rome Braves.

Scott Autrey did just that - in fact he slammed the door on the Braves as the Charleston ace gave up just three hits in eight innings of work to lead the RiverDogs to a 1-0 win over Rome Thursday night.

The win improves Autrey to 8-1 on the year, while Rome starter Matt Merricks was handed the loss.

Catcher Brian McCan was the lone bright spot of the Braves, who battered the Charleston pitching staff Tuesday and Wednesday, as he ended the night with two doubles.

The two teams close out the four-game series Friday night at 7:05
