Area high school football teams are not the only ones that work all year for a championship.

On Tuesday eight area youth football teams from the Unified Youth Football League survived the semifinals and now advance to the championships Saturday.

The teams, made up of players from the Boys and Girls Club and the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority, begin play at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Here are the results of Tuesday’s semifinal games:

In the Junior Pee Wee Division 1 at Riverview, the Gold Dragons beat the Warriors 14-0 and the Wildcats beat the Eagles 19-0.

The Gold Dragons and Wildcats play Saturday in the Heritage Bowl Championship at the Boys and Girls Club.

In Junior Pee Wee Division 2 at the Boys and Girls Club, the Black Dragons knocked off the Dragons 31-6 and the Colts beat the Indians Blue 19-0.

The Black Dragons and Colts face off at 1 p.m. Saturday at Riverview.

In Pee Wee Division 1 at the Boys and Girls Club, the Tigers defeated the Eagles 34-0 and the Colts defeated the Apaches in a narrow 13-12 game.

The Tigers and Colts meet at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Riverview.

In Mite Division I play at Riverview, the Wolves shutout the Blue Devils 26-0 and the Tigers survived the Panthers 18-14.

The Wolves and Tigers square off at 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Boys and Girls Club.

The semifinals of Pee Wee Division 2 and Mite Division 2 will be played Thursday and the finals will follow on Saturday.

The Pee Wee Div. 2 games Thursday at Riverview pits the Yellow Jackets against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m., while Dragons Gold and the Warriors play at 7.

The Mite Div. 2 games at the Boys Club will see the Dragons Gold play the Warriors at 6 p.m. and the Indians Blue face the Dragons White at 7:30.

Tickets for Saturday’s games are $3 for adults and $1 for those 12 and under
