Jerry Wade and Pamela Saunders Bearden of Armuchee announce the engagement of their daughter Jamie Olivia Bearden of Philadelphia, Pa., to Luke Yungyue Lin of Dahlonega, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maulong Lin of Temple City, Calif.

Miss Bearden is a 1996 graduate of Armuchee High School and a 2000 cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. She is a medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine pursuing a doctor of osteopathy degree. She is a member of the Baptist Student Union, Phi Beta Kappa, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, American Osteopathic Association, Philadelphia College of Medicine’s a cappella group, is secretary of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and was a medical student summer missionary to Mexico in 2002.

The bride-elect is the sister of Joel Wade Bearden of Canton. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. Clyde and Betty Saunders of Rome, Oma Holcomb of Armuchee, the late Wiley Wade Bearden and the late Charles N. Holcomb.

Lin is a 1995 graduate of Temple City High School, a 1995 U.S. Army basic training graduate, 1995 advanced training graduate, 1996 Air Assault graduate, 1998 Primary Leadership Development graduate, 2001 Airborne school graduate, and plans to graduate from North Georgia College and State University in December. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Psi Chi Honor Society. He is employed in the U.S. Army.

The groom-elect is the brother of Matthew Yungchuan Lin of Temple City.

The private wedding is planned for Saturday, June 18, 2005, at New Armuchee Baptist Church. A reception will follow at Magretta Hall. Invitations will be sent
