The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Powell of Rome. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Cescutti and Justene Powell, all of Rome, and the late Derward Powell.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Buice of Carrollton. He is the grandson of Betty Buice of Carrollton, the late Wallace Buice and the late Mr. and Mrs. M.E. White.
The Rev. Jim Bradshaw performed the ceremony.
Guests were greeted by Tripp Powell, brother of the bride, and Blake Cescutti, cousin of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by pianist and organist Jay Ivey, brother-in-law of the groom, Brian Horne and Brooke Ivey, sister of the groom. Selections included “Ave Maria” by Schubert and “The Lord’s Prayer” by Malotte.
Chelsea Echols of Snellville was matron of honor. Laura Hussman of Rome was maid of honor. Attendants were Erin Buice and Ellen Buice, both of Carrollton, sisters of the groom, and Trey Getz of Lawrenceville.
The bride was given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father. She carried a bouquet of stemmed Calla lilies.
Jared Bradshaw of New York City was best man. Groomsmen were Blake Sato and Michael Holmes, both of Carrollton, Ben Pitts of Los Angeles, Calif., and Ben Neal of Buckhead.
Jackson Echols of Snellville was ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the dining room of the church. Refreshments included the three-tier wedding cake monogramed with a “B” and the groom’s cake, which resembled a poker game with cards, dice and poker chips. Guests were greeted by Trey Getz and Laci Kimbell and signed the mat around a favorite picture of the couple. Servers were Andrea Cescutti and Sarah Johnson, cousins of the bride.
The afternoon before the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a dinner at Prickly Pear.
Other pre-nuptial parties included a shower hosted by Teresa Resch, Diane Miller and Barbara Rees at the Resch home in Rome; a tea hosted by Raliegh and Laura Hussman, Linda and Laine Voccio, Susan Robbins, Cory Ware and Gail and Ashley Alexander at the Hussman home in Rome; a recipe shower at the home of Dell Griffin hosted by Griffin, Vyckie Adams, Susan Holmes and others in the neighborhood bunco group in Carrollton; a shower in Carrollton at the home of Patti Pitts hosted by Pitts, Robin Putnam, Vyckie Adams, Pam Gable, Susan Holmes, Nancy Gilbert and Janet Sabo; and a fiesta honoring the couple hosted by Sandy Davis and Lynn Griffin at the Davis home.
