The Noon Optimist Club of Rome’s 47th annual Pancake Breakfast will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 6 a.m. to noon at the Rome Civic Center, the club announced today. Proceeds from the breakfast will be used to support programs for the youth of Rome and Floyd County.

Tickets for the all-you-care-to-eat pancake and sausage breakfast are $4 in advance or $4.50 at the door. The club is also selling pork sausage for $4 per pound. Tickets and sausage may be purchased from club members, by phoning 706-236-3609, or by emailing noonoptimists@comcast.net.

This is the club’s only fundraising event of the year, and proceeds are used to sponsor local events such as the Student of the Month program, Student of the Year program, Terrific Kid program, as well as Essay and Oratorical contests and scholarships for first-year college students. The Noon Optimist Club also provides financial support to such youth-oriented programs as Punt, Pass, and Kick, a Junior Golf Tournament, Floyd County Schools Mini Health Fairs, Red Ribbon Week, the Law Enforcement Appreciation Barbeque, Grands Who Care, Harbor House, Hospitality House, Murphy-Harpst Children’s Centers, Civil Air Patrol, and the Vacation Reading Program at the Sara Hightower Regional Library. For the first time during the coming year, the club will also provide financial support to the Cops for Kids program and Rome’s Morningstar Treatment Services.
