A citizens committee to oversee the special purpose, local option sales tax program will hold its first meeting Feb. 20 at 5:30 p.m. in the Carnegie Building of Rome City Hall.

The SPLOST Review Committee is an extension of the advisory committee that chose the projects included in the $53 million package approved by voters in November.

County Manager Kevin Poe said the committee will get regular updates on the progress of SPLOST projects and keep the public informed
