A Rome man was in jail Thursday, following his Wednesday arrest by Rome police on charges he is a registered sex offender who faked his identity to obtain housing, reports stated.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Anthony James Pardon, 42, of 1349 Redmond Circle, was charged with failure to report to the state sexual offender registry, making false statements and writings and two counts of first-degree forgery — all felonies.

On Feb. 6, Pardon allegedly completed an application for housing at a Rome apartment complex using a false name and an altered Georgia driver’s license. Pardon is reportedly a “registered sexually violent predator” in Ohio, but came to Georgia using a fake identity and failed to register as a sex offender.

Bond was not set for Pardon on Thursday night.
