Rome Area Council for the Arts will host its 22nd annual summer poetry reading series in the courtyard at Schroeder's Deli on Broad Street.

RACA Summer Poetry Nights feature local and regional writers reading original poetry and prose, including short fiction and creative nonfiction.

Coordinated by local writer and editor Ray Marsocci, poetry nights are the last Thursday of each month, May through September, at 7 p.m. There is no charge for admission.

RACA Summer Poetry Nights will be:
  • May 31
  • June 28
  • July 26
  • August 30
  • September 27

Poetry night is the quintessential summer arts event," said Allen Bell, RACA executive director. "It's the perfect opportunity to take advantage of warm summer evenings in the quaint atmosphere of the Schroeder's Deli courtyard, while taking in a little local culture and showing support for our local writers."

For more information about Poetry Nights, or if you would like to read at one of the events, call RACA at 706-295-2787 or email romearts@aol.com.
