Dr. Carmen Butcher will present “Medieval Women Mystics and Their Relevance in the 21st Century” at 7 p.m. Aug. 16. The lecture is the latest in a continuing series of evening discussions being hosted by Oak Hill and The Martha Berry Museum in partnership with the Rome Area Council for the Arts.



A member of the Shorter College faculty, Butcher was the 2006 Georgia Professor of the Year. She is the author of several books, including the recently released "Hildegard of Bingen: A Spiritual Reader."
