Former University of Georgia and Rockmart standout Danny Ware’s NFL debut had the makings of a good start Friday night.

Brought in as the New York Jets’ running back in the fourth quarter of their preseason game against Atlanta at the Meadowlands, Ware carried the ball 26 yards on his first carry.

Ware went on to be New York’s leading rusher of the game with 48 yards on 12 carries. His opening touch was the longest run of the night for both teams.

A undrafted free agent, Ware was picked up by the New York Jets in June on waivers after he was released by Tennessee.
