Veterans Day will be observed with a special program at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11 at the memorial in downtown Rockmart.

Tom Watson Coker, killed in action in World War II, will be honored. Initially, Coker's name was mistakenly left off the veterans memorial here and elsewhere, due to government oversight.

Commander Ernie Rutledge, American Legion Brown-Wright Post 12, said Coker's name has been added to the Rockmart memorial.

Staff Sgt. Shannon Weaver, a Polk County soldier killed in Iraq, will also be remembered.

Guest speaker will be Navy veteran Larry Reynolds
