A Rome man did not appear to sustain serious injuries after he crashed his van into a tree on Old Lindale Road on Wednesday morning, reports stated.

According to police records:

Danny Shedd, of 1901 Dean St., Lot 28, wrecked his 1992 Chevy van while southbound on Old Lindale Road shortly before 10 a.m. near the Kellogg plant.

Shedd was trying to light a cigarette before he lost control of his vehicle, ran through part of a fence and struck a tree.

Shedd was taken to Floyd Medical Center with minor injuries
