The building's owners plan to expand a parking lot that already exists behind Sylvan. According to representatives, a "well-known business" will be moving into the property after the parking lot is completed.

Angela Harper, executive director of Sylvan Learning Center, said her organization was "completely opposed" to the demolition, in part because they have a lease that runs through 2010.
