Another charge has been filed against a Rome resident who allegedly stole $14,000 worth of appliances and electronics from at least 25 storage units.

According to Floyd County Jail and police reports:

Kenneth Ray Peek, 42, of 2 Jeffrey St., was charged Tuesday with an additional felony count of burglary.

He was previously charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property.

Floyd County Investigator Dan Bickers, officers broke the case on Jan. 12 when Peek was captured by a surveillance camera exiting Armuchee Secure Storage on Martha Berry Highway.

He was seen driving a burgundy minivan with several large appliances visible on a trailer hitched to his vehicle. Those items were reported stolen the same day.

Peek was in jail late Tuesday on $5,000 bond.
