Mr. and Mrs. Mark Rainey of Cordele announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Brooke Rainey to Jeffrey Steven Sweitzer, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Sweitzer of Rome.

Miss Rainey is a 2004 graduate of Crisp County High School and will graduate from Kennesaw State University in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Education degree in early childhood education.

The bride-elect is the sister of Heather Turner of Knoxville, Tenn. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rainey and Mr. and Mrs. James Gardner, all of Cordele.

Sweitzer is a 2003 graduate of Rome High School and is currently attending Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta. He is employed at Heath and Lineback Engineers of Marietta.

The groom-elect is the brother of Major Wesley Sweitzer of Cabot, Ark. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ott and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sweitzer Jr., all of Rome.

The ceremony is planned for Saturday, June 14, 2008, at The Lee Council House in Americus. A reception will follow
