Council buys home for homeless
Columbus is buying a home for the homeless -- in a way.
The city council agreed Tuesday to spend $170,000 on two parcels of property at Second Avenue and 23rd Street, one of which the Homeless Resource Network already occupies. The network aids the homeless with services such as bus passes, an address for receiving mail, storage for personal belongings and proof of identification. It also coordinates homeless services with other agencies citywide.
