Bud Gammon of Rome, 57, qualified to run as a Democrat for the U.S. House of Representatives District 11 seat currently held by Phil Gingrey of Marietta. Gammon, a 1969 graduate of East Rome High School, is a former Air Force pilot.
Ron Morris, 42, qualified as a Democrat for tax commissioner, a post currently held by Republican Kevin Payne. Morris is the corporal over the sex offender unit at the Floyd County Sheriff's Office and previously worked as the juvenile officer.
Barry Henderson, 48, qualified to run as a Democrat for re-election as coroner.
Chris Mathis, 43, qualified to run as a Democrat for re-election to his post as chief magistrate.
Bryan Shealy, 53, qualified to run as a Democrat for re-election to his Post 3 seat on the Floyd County Board of Education.
