District Attorney Jewel Scott said Friday she's been investigating allegations the board has not addressed ethics complaints against two of its members. The board could be charged with malfeasance, which is a misdemeanor and would only result in being removed from office.
The Clayton County school district is slated to lose its accreditation Sept. 1 unless it meets nine mandates from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. A February report from SACS blames the school district's woes on a dysfunctional school board that does not act in the best interest of its 52,000 students
